Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actress as well as a television host. She's most famous as the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. She was the sole daughter of Romanian actors Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various TV dramas before she was sixteen. After her critically acclaimed role in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable role like Adolf's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. The film received nominations for an Oscar and garnered critical praise. The other Oscar nominees featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable international and national projects throughout time. The most notable of these include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French documentary about the history of Napoleon and many more. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
